Troop 483 has been around for over 25 years. Our chartered organization is Christ United Church of Cypress . Troop 483 is boy run on the ideals and principles of Patrol Method developed by Sir Robert Baden-Powell almost a century ago. Our Scouts learn leadership by being active leaders while being allowed to make mistakes and learning from those mistakes to become better leaders.
New Scouts who join the Troop are put into separate patrols and are part of our First Class Emphasis program the first year, working with adult leaders and older Scouts that are Troop Guides toward learning basic Scout skills and earning ranks to build a strong foundation for scouting.
483 meets every Monday night 7:00-8:30 p.m. at CUCC on Telge and Huffmeister. Troop elections are held in March and September with Court of Honors the same months to recognise the achievements of our Scouts.
483 is an outdoor troop which includes climbing & rappelling, flat water canoeing, wilderness survival, fishing, hiking, backpacking, patrol competitions, camporee, summer and winter camps and more along with high adventure for our older scouts at Philmont and Packard. We camp every month on the third weekend with a PLC meeting the following Monday night.
