Howdy Gary,

I'm home with pneumonia. Got sick this weekend and am coughing blood today. Sorry I missed the Sunday Court of Honor. I'm not feeling well or I'd have tried to call earlier. Likely to be out the rest of this week.

this is a exactly what should be happening in this world more often, unfortunately their are getting to be less and less of these type of people in the world. Scouting is trying to fulfill that gap but it will require effort from all those that are part or will become a part of this wonderful organization.

I think this is excellent. I have seen it before. And it will be usefull for us. As for never seeing a scout without scout spirit, I believe you must be lucky. I have a scout right now that is only there because his parents force him to be there. He does not like it, and does not want to continue. He does not show any scout spirit, unless it is forced and then is way over the top and almost done jokingly.

While there probably is not much that can be done to change this boy, this may guide a discussion about the situation.

Boy scouts often have to raise money for gear needed on their weekend camping trips as well as their longer trips to Philmont and other backpacking ventures. Mass Outfitters is a site that will help provide Scout troops with needed gear for these adventures. Just give them a call and thell them what you need and they will let you know what they can do. They are dedicated to helping the Boy Scouts of America in any way they can.

Well said. I mention this whenever possible in regards to Scouting and coaching sports. When you have a family, there has to be one at home to allow the other to be in the field. God bless the spouses!

Thanks honey...I think I have said every single one of those! However, I feel as strong as you do about the importance of scouting and I am proud to be The Scoutmaster's wife.
