How many times have you chuckled when you heard someone tell a new scouting parent that? Everytime I hear it, I follow it with, “per scout”. Whomever started the illusion (or is it dilusion?) that scout leadership can be done in one hour per week had a very slow watch but that’s ok. If they told us how much time we, as leaders, would truly dedicate to scouting, we would have turned and run as fast as we could. It doesn’t take us long to become addicted to the pride we receive from leading our scouts. That pride seems to make my own watch run slower and slower. Look at that, it’s only been one hour for this week!
By the way, if you look closely at the clock in the image, it’s a scout law clock that I found at Scouting EZine. VERY COOL!

My predecessor, mentor, dear friend and now my assistant Scoutmaster always says, “One hour a week! That’s what’s left for me.”
Like you, I am having a blast!! If I had known it would be this much fun, I would have done it as a kid.
