October 20th. Jon had his COH to be recognized for becoming an Eagle Scout. His COH was simple but full of honor. I had the pleasure along with his parents presenting his Eagle Scout regalia. It was an honor to say a few words about the Keys of Scouting and reminiscing about Jon’s years with the troop. At the end I presented Jon with a certificate and our State flag I had flown over our capitol the day of his board of review.
Jon is currently the SPL and is demonstrating great leadership for the troop in many ways. He is a senior in high school and planning on becoming a surgeon. After the COH we ate some great BBQ and cake. I had the opportunity to visit with Jon’s Dad who is also an Eagle Scout and share some great stories about his son. Needless to say Jon’s Mom, Dad, and Sister were very proud.
It is amazing to me as a Scout leader to watch these young boys come into the troop so young and wide eyed, and watch them grow and mature into the finest young men and leaders you can know right before your very eyes.
On behalf of Troop 483 congratulations on becoming an Eagle Scout Jonathan.
